English Language Advisory Committee
The Vencil Brown English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a group of one to two parents and two staff members per ELAC regulations according to Brown School’s English Learner (EL) population.
ELAC members:

Advise the principal and school staff on the school’s program for English Learners (ELs).

Advise the School Site Council (SSC) on the development of the Single School Plan for Student Achievement (Site Plan).

Review the R-30 Language Census each spring.

Receive information and recommended actions to support regular school attendance.

Assist with the development of the School Needs Assessment.
The ELAC meetings will be held after school as needed to fulfill the ELAC requirements as described above.

The English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) meets once a month on Tuesdays at Vencil Brown to discuss the needs of children who come from a second language background. If you are interested in participating, please call the school office.
